The All New AWD Mazda3 2019 Review – Could this be the Mazdaspeed3’s replacement?

The new AWD 2019 Mazda3 can only be described in two words; exemplary performance. Although not as smooth or as tranquil as the new Range Rover, the cabin looks and feels just as good (Sorry I know this is an inequitable comparison).

So what exactly do you get with the new 2019 Mazda3? Let’s find out.

About The 2019 Mazda3

Mazda didn’t try to reimagine the 2019 Mazda Mazda3, they have simply made it better.

The sleek LED headlights give the car a much sportier stance while the new grille displays Mazda’s exquisite attention to even the finest of detail.

Dynamic integrated twin exhausts compliment the new Mazda3’s elegant looks and further enhance the Mazda’s sporty design.

Inside the new 2019 Mazda Mazda3 you will find wider, deeper cushioned seats which cocoon the occupants with a calm, comfortable haven. There’s is also good head and knee room both at the front and rear of the car.

The 2019 Mazda Mazda3 comes with an 8.8-inch infotainment screen with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. With this infotainment technology the Mazda3 is ahead of most of its rivals, with most of them offering only Apple CarPlay.

Also consider the list of features that come as standard on every 2019 Mazda3:

LED headlights, an eight-speaker sound system, an electronic parking brake, and a 7.0-inch instrument cluster screen.

Though many things come standard, the optional 2019 Mazda Mazda3 has a new all-wheel-drive option (the front-wheel drive is standard).

You can have the option of having your 2019 Mazda Mazda3 come with a full suite of:

Adaptive LED headlights

  • 18-inch wheels
  •  Active safety tech
  • A head-up display
  • 12-speaker Bose sound system

In all 2019 Madza3s you will find the Steering wheel and the dash beautifully finished with quality materials, again showing how much Mazda has tried to make this car look and feel special.

The sun blind further enhances the effort for sense of comfort and convenience inside the car, and though manually operated; sliding it feels smooth and very easy.

An impressive range of 5 different engine types starting with the familiar SkyActiv-G family of gasoline units all this has been made to cater for the different consumer needs, just as the two body shapes* that the Mazda3 has maintained through the years.

*the sedan and the famous four-door hatchback

The 2.5-liter 2019 Mazda3, which will be available in America, is powered by a naturally aspirated inline-4 providing 186 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. Although the 2019 Mazda3’s engine hasn’t really changed from its predecessor’s, producing only 2 horsepower more compared to the 2018 Mazda3; the revised drivetrain has been improved as it now returns a slightly better fuel economy.

The car achieves 0-60mph in just 7.2 seconds returning an MPG of 27mpg city/36 mpg highway which is pretty good.

Six-speed automatic and manual transmissions are both available.

Pros

Better Performance

Previously only available on the upper trims, Mazda’s larger 2.5-liter SkyActiv-G engine now comes standard; producing official figures of 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.

All-New SkyActiv-X

The all-new SkyActiv-X engine offers an advanced ignition system and a high compression ratio which will help conserve a lot of fuel. With a combined rating of nearly 40 mpg, the new Madza3 is undoubtedly among the most efficient cars in the class.

All-Wheel Drive Now Available

In previous models the Mazda3 has only been available with front-wheel drive. But for 2019 however, Mazda fits this popular compact car with an AWD system. This makes it even better than the likes of the Subaru. Don’t get me wrong, the WRX is an amazing car but for a person who needs an AWD vehicle with a fair fuel economy then this is the car for them. And because the i-Activ AWD system automatically adapts to the varying road conditions, so you don’t have to adjust anything.

Sporty Handling

From previous generations the Mazda3 has been known to be a sporty vehicle and because Mazda has stopped the production of the Mazdaspeed 3 they have decided to equip the 2019 Mazda3 with a standard G-Vectoring Plus system which enhances how the car handles around corners

Beautiful Exterior and interior Styling

The 2019 Mazda3’s sharp exterior styling and interior finishing is one of its biggest attractions.

More Exciting Stereo Systems

If you’re a music fan, you’ll be delighted by the 2019 Mazda Mazda3. With the base model coming standard with an upgraded stereo system, which now comprises a total of eight speakers. While you can have an option of 12-speaker Bose audio system’s impressive sound quality.

Plenty of New Safety Technologies

The new 2019 Mazda3 lets you take full advantage of the new Driver Monitoring system. By monitoring your eye movement, the system is able to detect when you’re getting drowsy or distracted.

With a new Cruising and Traffic Support system driving in traffic is now less nerve-racking as the system provides steering and braking assistance.

Front cross-traffic warning has also been added to the Mazda3’s list of driver-assist technologies.

Revised Active Driving Display

Mazda offers an Active Driving Display which gauge cluster’s information directly onto the windshield, Traffic Sign Recognition is also provided so that the drivers don’t have to look down at the speedometer while helping you avoid speeding and missing road exits.

Improved MazdaConnect Infotainment System

The new 2019 Mazda Mazda3 is more Comfortable to Drive ideal for the daily commuter

Cons

More Expensive Price

Prices start at nearly $21,900, which makes it roughly $2,900 more expensive than before. Although there are a couple of improvements most of the fun stuff come optional meaning more cash for the ultimate 2019 Mazda Mazda3 and by comparison Mazda3’s competitors like the 2019 Kia Forte and 2019 Nissan Sentra have a starting price of less than $18,000.

Still Does Not Offer Class-Leading Passenger Room

Although the new 2019 Mazda Mazda3 may be slightly larger, it’s still a small car and there is need for more knee space at the rear.

Overall rating

8 .5/ 10

Final verdict

As stated earlier we now have an all-wheel-drive option in the 2019 Mazda3, so if you are looking for a nice all-wheel-drive car (not an SUV), with good fuel consumption, and a fairly reasonable price, then why not the 2019 Mazda Mazda3. According to me this is one of the best cars you can get this year.
